This is a high profile and strategically important role to the business and will play a major part in ensuring that Merseyrail continues to be recognised as a widely respected and positive influence in both the Liverpool City Region and the wider rail industry.

The successful individual will play a particularly key part in leading our communications strategy for the new fleet of trains due to arrive on the Merseyrail network in the next couple of years. Working closely with our client, shareholders and other internal stakeholders, the role holder will be responsible for developing and delivering our corporate communications strategy, ensuring that it is positively received across the region and wider industry.

The successful individual will play a lead role in our relationships with the media, providing and presenting information both proactively and reactively. The role holder will act as the nominated spokesperson for Merseyrail for certain business areas and communications, presenting the business in a professional and credible manner.
