Graduate HSE Co-Ordinator

Palmer & Co have a fantastic opportunity for a Health and Safety Coordinator to join our operations team based at our head office in Glasgow. This role will report directly to the Director. This is an exciting role for someone who wishes to further their career in Health and Safety with a focus on specialist working at height.

In this role you will provide health and safety advice and support to the company Directors and production team and facilitate compliance with the company’s Integrated Management System. You will also manage compliance to all relevant legal, industry and company standards.

About the Role:

  • You will ensure compliance with UK HSE Legislation
  • Carry out site surveys, site audits & SMS audits
  • Create and Maintain Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Rescue Plans.
  • Maintain records to ensure legal and company compliance.
  • Advise and support Managers and Supervisors to implement and maintain our safety management system.
  • Carry out Near miss and Accident investigations.
  • Collate Near miss and Accident statistics for reporting purposes.
  • Keep up to date with legislation, guidance and other relevant developments and implement strategies where necessary.
  • Ensure documentation is periodically reviewed and updated as required.
  • Maintain in house Training Matrix.
  • Training given with aim to complete work at height access courses.

Essential Qualifications:

  • NEBOSH certificate, potentially working towards a diploma
  • Sound knowledge of health and safety legislation and its application to different Jobs.
  • Experience would advantageous, but not essential.
  • Good communication skills

Salary £25,000 - £35,000 (depending on experience). This will be discussed at interview stages. Candidates will be expected to work a potential pattern of Monday-Friday, suiting the needs of the Business. Flexibility may be granted for the ideal candidate.
