Café Team Leader – Social Enterprise

Full Time |  2nd Avenue Café, Antrim Street, Lisburn

The Role:

The Café Team Leader will work 100% of their time on ESF funded programme and will have overall responsibility for café staff and the daily operations of 2nd Avenue Café, social business working to the highest customer service standards. The post holder will ensure the success of the social enterprise café and support for people with learning disabilities.  The post holder will assist with the business development and promotion of the café.

Essential Criteria:

  • Food Hygiene Certificate – Level 2
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience gained within the last 5 years of working in a commercial catering environment in a management or supervisory capacity.
  • Proven experience of cooking, food preparation.
  • Experience maintaining an effective cash control and till reconciliation system to ensure accurate end of day records.
  • Experience of to achieve sales targets and set profit margins.
  • Experience in purchasing goods, stock control and wastage in a cafe / hospitality environment.
  • Experience in managing and recording Food Hygiene quality standards and Health & Safety Standards.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Catering or hospitality qualification or equivalent
  • Experience of cooking and food preparation
  • Current food hygiene certificate level 3
  • Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities

Salary: £22,738 per annum

Pension: 7% employer contribution

Hours of work: 37 hours per week (distributed Monday to Saturday)

Holiday entitlement: 25 Days plus 11 Statutory Days

Duration: to 31st March 2023 (with extension beyond this date subject to funding
