We have an exciting opportunity for a Cocoa Events Manager to join our Marketing & Events team. This is a full-time permanent opportunity which will be field based across the UK, with regular travel to our Cocoa Vaults in London and our Leeds Trinity event space. When not at events, flexible home-based working is available.

As Cocoa Events Manager you will be responsible for the delivery of Hotel Chocolat events across the UK. This will include events at Cocoa Vaults and Leeds Trinity, our Schools of Chocolate, as well as our Chocmobile which travels up and down the UK pitching up at key locations and attractions. Whilst providing leadership to our talented and energetic events and hosting team, you will adopt a strategic focus, always ensuring we are running a profitable business stream, maximising all opportunities to increase brand awareness and sales, and seeking out new opportunities and clients to work with.

This opportunity would suit anyone with events management experience across external brand events, PR pop-ups or even independent festivals.

SHOW US HOW ITS DONE

Sales & Events

  • Attend and lead Hotel Chocolat field-based events on a weekly basis, managing all aspects of these events
  • Create clear business plans for each new format of event with brand objectives and ROI expectations.
  • Take ownership of and manage your budget, ensuring field-based events are executed cost efficiently.
  • Manage the annual field-based events calendar and actively engage in networking to seek out opportunities for contract negotiations and new bookings.
  • Drive and manage all ‘School of Chocolate’ events in Cocoa Vaults and Leeds Trinity.

People Management

  • Manage the ‘School of Chocolate’ & Chocmobile teams, establishing rotas and development plans.
  • Lead by example with exemplary Event Management skills, following best practice and Hotel Chocolat expectations.
  • Manage and monitor relationships with third party suppliers.

Finance & Commerciality

  • Responsibility for the sales channel of the ‘School of Chocolate’ at Cocoa Vaults, Leeds Trinity and the Chocmobile.
  • Manage expenditure and achieve event ROI, through monthly sales targets.
  • Be responsible for accurate and timely expense and timesheet management.

WHO YOU ARE & WHAT YOU HAVE?

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience in events management and leading an events team.
  • Strategic focus with experience managing budgets and bringing in new business opportunities.
  • Full Driving license and ability to travel to events across the UK.
  • Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends.

Desirable

  • Previous event hosting experience.
  • Ability to thrive within a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
