What you’ll do

As an Apprentice you’ll gain a broad overview of how our highly successful retail deli operation works.  You’ll learn all about how our delicious products are stored, prepared and served, ensuring a fantastic customer experience for our valued shoppers. You’ll work your way towards a Level 2 Certificate in Foodservices Team Leading, as well as gaining qualifications in Food Safety and First Aid, and our company “Aspiring Leaders” programme.  There will be an opportunity towards the end of the programme, if successful, to progress your career to a management role, leading your own deli team!  This role includes an attractive salary and bonus scheme with great career progression opportunities.

What areas does the apprenticeship cover?

  • In-House Training to include:
    • Ensuring food quality during preparation and service
    • Food Safety & Compliance
    • Food Presentation standards
  • Apprenticeship Units including:
  • Planning and allocating work for a team
  • Developing and deploying an operational plan
  • Support the development of objectives and KPIs (sales, waste, production and profitability targets)
  • Monitor and control throughput
  • Lead team briefings
  • Problem diagnosis and resolution
  • Product changeovers
  • Carry out task hand-over

What’s the duration?

  • We expect the Apprenticeship to start in October 2019 and last up to 2 years. The speed at which you progress is up to you!

What do I need to apply?

You’ll be aged between 16-24 (at time of application) and no longer in full-time education. Ideally you should have GCSE English and Maths (Grades A-C) but if not, we’ll help you gain Essential Skills with your Food Services Team Leading qualification.

You should also have the following:

  • Great communication skills
  • Excellent customer focus
  • Attention to detail & creative flair
  • Good numeracy skills
  • Excellent team-working ability
  • Ability to multi-task and work well in a fast-paced environment, flexibility in working hours and hungry to develop and progress within a career.

Training provided:

  • Apprenticeship NI Framework Level 2 Certificate for Proficiency in Food Team Leading,
  • Essential Skills in Maths and English (if required)
  • Accredited Food Safety and First Aid Qualifications
  • Structured career path with opportunities to progress into Management
