We have an exciting opportunity for a HR Consultant to join our team on a temporary basis.

The Role:

Reporting to the Managing Consultant and Directors the jobholder would be required to provide face to face, telephone and email advice and support to client organisations in all aspects of employee relations and Human Resource Management. In addition, the HR Consultant would be expected to carry out the following tasks:

• Prepare Contracts of Employment and Employee Handbooks for client organisations and, where necessary, assist implementation through consultation with the workforce.
• Provide pragmatic and professional ER advice and guidance to clients ensuring that the client is aware of potential risks/benefits to their organisation.
• Prepare letters, reports and documentation for clients in relation to grievance, disciplinary and/or harassment investigations/hearings and other HR matters ensuring compliance with any employee statutory right or employer obligation.
• Provide “on site” practical assistance to clients in all HR related meetings such as recruitment, disciplinary and grievance situations, bullying/harassment cases, ill health reviews, probationary reviews, redundancy consultations, TUPE consultations etc, and recording minutes of same.
• Liaise with external parties, such as the LRA and Equality Commission etc.
• Help prepare case responses for Industrial or Fair Employment Tribunal claims.
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation and to brief clients as necessary.
• Undertake consultancy assignments or training-related project work, if requested, and produce written reports for client or non-client organisations.
• Actively engage with clients and recognise new opportunities to provide additional HR services as required.
• Market the services offered by the Company and increase the client base.
• Prepare proposals, tenders etc. for all potential work as a result of marketing activities.
• Prepare and deliver training to client organisations on HR matters.

Given our wide-ranging client base this role will suit someone who has Associate membership of the CIPD with a minimum of 3 years’ relevant practical employee relations’ experience within the private sector with excellent communication skills, pragmatic problem-solving skills (particularly in the field of employee relations) and good time management ability.

This position is a temporary Maternity Cover position for a maximum period of 9 months, from May 2019 to January 2020.

Hours of work, Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm
