Maintenance Engineer
Moores Animal Feeds based in the Braid Valley near Broughshane, Co. Antrim, are a family business now in its fourth generation.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.
The Maintenance Engineer is an integral part of the production team, the overall purpose of this position is to ensure that plant and equipment are maintained to optimum standards of reliability and efficiency. Operating within a high volume and deadline-driven environment, the emphasis is on a hands-on approach to both preventative and general maintenance, carrying out the following key tasks:
- Effective maintenance of plant and machinery, both mechanical (primarily) and electrical (desirable).
- Fault finding and repairs to all production machinery and auxiliary plant.
- Perform regular rounds of the site and equipment, identifying and reporting defects and issues that affect the reliability and efficiency of the facility.
- Promote continuous improvement and take a vigilant approach to identifying and solving problems following a logical thought process.
- Work closely with the production team to understand their requirements and to keep downtime to a minimum whilst maintenance / repairs in progress.
- Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
- 5 GSCE’s (or equivalent) at grade C or above to include Maths and English PLUS 4 years' recent experience (above apprentice qualification) of maintenance engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience of mechanical systems.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- A calm logical approach under pressure in a fast-paced customer focused environment.
- Safety conscious approach to maintenance procedures.
Desirable criteria:
- Knowledge of process control.
- Electrical engineering qualification, education or certificate.
- Experience of electrical and pneumatic systems.
- Forklift licence.
